Williams Returns to LPGA Tour

LPGA Tour veteran Kim Williams makes her return to tournament action this week after recuperating from an automobile accident.
Williams will play in the Chick-Fil-A Charity Championship in Atlanta. She was struck head-on after a driver in Orlando, Fl., had a diabetic seizure. Williams was in Orlando Regional Medical Center hospital and the RDV Sportsplex the past four months. She broke her collarbone, displaced her sternum, tore cartilage in her ribs, and suffered a knee cut all the way to the joint. She also underwent a myomectomy to remove a large fibroid from her abdomen.
Williams was leaving the Grand Cypress Resort course in Orlando after the first round of the LPGA YourLife Vitamins tourney when the accident occurred.
'I missed the competition and the structure of life on the road,' said Williams. 'Really, I missed the discipline and hard work - and I need to make some money! I need to pay these medical bills!'
