Wongluekiets Return to Nabisco


Aree and Naree Wongluekiet will be among the five amateurs competing in the LPGAs first major of the season, the Kraft Nabisco Championship, March 28-31 in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
This will the twins third start at the Nabisco. They were first invited in 2000, when they were 13; Aree made the cut, while Naree missed it. Aree played her way into the final threesome on Sunday with eventual champion Karrie Webb and two-time champion Dottie Pepper. Aree tied for 10th, while Naree went on to become low amateur later that year at the U.S. Womens Open.
Both players made the Nabisco cut in 2001; Aree tied for 46th and Naree tied for 58th.
Other amateurs in the field include Lorena Ochoa, the No. 1 ranked college player from the University of Arizona and reigning U.S. Womens Amateur champion Meredith Duncan.
