Woods Commits to Doral


Tiger Woods committed Friday to next weeks Genuity Championship at the Doral Resort and Spa in Miami, Fla.
This will be the second time the worlds No. 1 ranked player has played Doral, the first being in 1998. He tied for ninth, exiting the scene with a memorable fairway bunker shot to a foot.
Woods originally wasnt scheduled to compete on the PGA Tour until the Bay Hill Invitational, March 14-17 in his hometown of Orlando. But, following a surprising first-round loss in the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship, he decided to make the trip south.
Woods is coming off a disappointing West Coast swing. He tied for 10th at the Mercedes Championships, tied for 12th at Pebble Beach, tied for fifth in the Buick Invitational, and lost 2-and-1 to Peter OMalley at La Costa.
Tiger will be seeking his first tour victory since the WGC-NEC Invitational in August ' eight starts ago.
