The $1.7 million alternate-shot match-play event will pit Woods and Sorenstam against Duval and Webb in a live primetime showdown. The venue is Bighorn Golf Club in Palm Desert, Calif., the same course where Woods defeated Duval in an exhibition in 1999.
The format will force Woods and Duval to hit longer approach shots due to the shorter distances Sorenstam and Webb average off the tee. On the contrary, the ladies will reap the benefit of following up drives from two of the biggest hitters on the PGA Tour.
The winning team will split $1.2 million, while the losers will split $500,000.
