Bill Birnie, Managing Director at FR Partners, the tournaments main sponsor, confirmed that Woods signed the agreement to compete, yet made reference to the fact that there was still lots of work to be done for the event.
It could be another two or three weeks before we can go into details about the tournament, Birnie commented. But we now have a contract with Tiger and it is nice to get the paperwork out of the way.
Woods, who has won the last four major championships in succession, is rumored to be on the receiving-end of over $2 million as an appearance fee in New Zealand.
