Woods to Play Skins Game

Tiger Woods_Concentrates_HSTiger Woods has officially committed to Novembers Skins Game at the Landmark Golf Club in Indo, Calif.
Woods, who will be competing in his first Skins event since 1997, will join up with defending champion Colin Montgomerie and two other golfers who have yet to be named for the traditional Thanksgiving weekend outing.
Woods played in his first Skins Game as a rookie in 1996, winning two skins worth $40,000, but ultimately finished well back of eventual champion Fred Couples.
In 97, Woods won three skins, but watched as Tom Lehman ran away with the tournament.
While no official word has yet come as to the other two contenders, the leading candidates are said to be Greg Norman and Jesper Parnevik.
The Skins Game is in its 19th year this season. The first nine holes will be contested on Saturday, Nov. 25, while the final nine will wrap up on Sunday, the 26th. As always, charity will be a big winner this year, with each player donating 20 percent of his earnings to the establishment of his choice.
