Woods Thorpe Alker Named Players of the Month


Tiger Woods captured his second consecutive Masters title on the way to winning PGA Tour Player of the Month honors for April.
Woods, 26, picked up his third Masters win April14 at the Augusta National Golf Club. It was also his seventh professional major title and 31st PGA Tour victory. The Player of the Month honor was Woods 15th, the most among all three Tours.
Jim Thorpe won his first Senior PGA Tour major championship at The Countrywide Tradition and with it, his third Senior Tour Player of the Month honor.
Thorpes playoff victory over John Jacobs was his fifth Senior win. The Roxboro, NC natives previous Player of the Month honors came in October 2000 and September 2001.
Finally, New Zealands Steven Alker, who recorded a victory in the Louisiana Open and two top-15 finishes, is the Buy.Com Tour's Player of the Month for March/April.
Alker, 30, is a rookie on the Buy.Com tour this year and is currently second on the money list. He finished tied for 13th at the Holden Clearwater Classic in his native country and also tied for14th at the BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs.
