Cochran teaching how to train like Mickelson, Faxon

You can probably never hit a flop shot like Phil Mickelson or putt like Brad Faxon, but you can train like both and that, according to Sean Cochran, is just as important.

Cochran, Mickelson and Faxon’s long-time trainer, is hosting a two-day workshop at his studio in San Diego Oct. 5-6 that will utilize the same golf fitness conditioning method he uses for his high profile clients.

“The method is designed to address the physical needs of the golfer for improved performance on and off the golf course,” Cochran said. “These goals are achieved through an understanding of the biomechanics of the golf swing, aptitude in assessing physical dysfunctions impeding the execution of the golf swing, comprehension of how to implement corrective exercise strategies, the processes by which to develop successful strength and conditioning programs for the sport of golf, and the principles governing performance training for golf.”

The workshop – which will teach how to evaluate the golf swing from a biomechanical and anatomical point of view and how to assess the kinetic chain of the golfer – costs $495. For more information visit,
