SwingFix analysis: Save your width for the backswing

The term “width” is one that golfers hear a lot but one that they might not fully understand.

You definitely want to create width in your swing, but ideally the width is created in the backswing and then the downswing is actually more narrow.

Jay is losing width in his backswing as his arms collapse a bit near the top of his swing, and as SwingFix instructor Mike Fay shows him in this swing analysis, that’s creating issues at impact.

This is a great lesson for any golfer to watch, as they will better understand the arcs created going back and coming down and how those two arcs influence impact, which is the moment of truth in the golf swing.
