Tip of the Week: Hit quality shots under pressure

The 24 players who will participate this weekend at the 2014 Ryder Cup will face a kind of pressure that's unlike any other in golf.

In addition to playing on one of golf's biggest stages, the competitors will also be hoping to perform at a high level for their countries, their teammates, and their captains.

You'll probably never face this kind of pressure on the course. If you play golf, however, you'll have to hit shots under pressure at some time in your life, if you haven't already.

So what's the best way to handle the pressure in those situations?

As Michael Breed, host of The Golf Fix, explains in this video segment, one effective way is to use visualization the way the great Jack Nicklaus did throughout his career.

After all, if you're seeing the shot before you hit it, you won't be seeing the potential negative results, and that will allow you to succeed more often than not.
