Tip of the Week: Lose the cast for better iron play

RSS

When it comes to hitting crisp, powerful iron shots, it's imperative that the hands are leading the clubhead as you arrive at impact.

Many average golfers, however, cast the club at the start of the downswing in an effort to create more power.

This move will lead to the clubhead arriving at the ball before the hands, which will result in a lack of power and inconsistency.

In this video segment, School of Golf host Martin Hall has a great visualization drill that you can use to get rid of a cast.

If you can create the sensation that Hall discusses, you'll maintain lag on the downswing and see dramatic improvement in your iron play.
