Tip of the Week: Make better contact on pitch shots

RSS

The wet, thick rough at this week’s U.S. Open at Merion will mean many players won’t be able to get their approach shots to the putting surface when they miss fairways off the tee.

And that will mean plenty of pitch shots from short of the greens, and from challenging tight lies, for the world’s best players.

Many average golfers struggle to make solid contact when faced with delicate pitch shots, but in this video segment, School of Golf host Martin Hall has some great advice to help you pitch the ball more effectively.

If you adopt this approach when you play, you’ll make solid contact and be able to get the ball up and down more often.
