For the next three weeks leading up to the 2012 U.S. Open, Golf Channel will highlight some of the most memorable final rounds in tournament history.
Tonight at 8PM ET watch the final round of the 2002 U.S. Open at Bethpage State Park in New York where Tiger Woods captured his second U.S. Open title and eighth major championship. Woods not only battled the star studded field, but also the New York gallery in order to be the only player to finish under par at Bethpage.
On May 29 at 8PM ET we travel back to 1998 and to The Olympic Club in San Francisco, which is also the home course to this year’s U.S. Open. Payne Stewart started the day off in the lead, but Lee Janzen, who started the day five shots behind Stewart and soon stretched that to seven shots, somehow made a miraculous comeback to take home his second U.S. Open victory.
The week prior to the U.S. Open we travel back in time to 1913. On June 4 at 8PM ET watch an epic film called The Greatest Game Ever Played that captures the true story of 20-year old amateur golfer, Francis Ouimet who beats his idol and major championship winner Harry Vardon.
