Round 2 resumes in good conditions

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – It looks like the U.S. Open caught a break with the weather. For now, at least.

Conditions are perhaps the best they’ve been all week right now as weather is not scheduled to move through the area until later this afternoon. Tomorrow’s forecast? Terrible.

David Duval got off to a hot start with birdies on his first two holes (Nos. 13, 14) and is at 3 under. Azuma Yano made two birdies off the bat and is at 6 under for his round through 14 holes. Lucas Glover birdied the sixth hole and has a one-shot lead over Mike Weir and Ricky Barnes, who both made early birdies.

What about Phil Mickelson? He butchered 13th hole and was lucky to make bogey.
