2016 U.S. Women's Am headed to Rolling Green

Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pa., has been awarded the 2016 U.S. Women’s Amateur, the U.S. Golf Association announced on Monday. The dates of the championship will be Aug. 8-14.

This is the second USGA championship conducted at Rolling Green, following the 1976 U.S. Women’s Open, won by JoAnne Gunderson Carner.

“The USGA is very happy to bring another national championship to Rolling Green,” said Thomas J. O’Toole Jr., USGA vice president and Championship Committee chairman, in a statement. “The course has already proven to be a formidable test, and it will undoubtedly present yet another stern challenge when it hosts the world's finest female amateur players.”

Rolling Green, which opened in 1926, was designed by William S. Flynn.
