Daly plans to undergo Lasik surgery on his right eye next Tuesday in Florida. The two-time major champion said he was diagnosed with the problem about six weeks ago and doctors tried to correct the ailment with contact lenses but the conditioned worsened.
Daly's vision problems have primarily impacted his putting.
“I’ve been aiming left because of it and we’ve been working on a putter that’s a little more open to try and compensate,” Daly said. “I’m very frustrated. Luckily I’ve been hitting it good, but I’m afraid it’s going to go the other way.”
After the Buick Open, Daly plans to play the PGA Championship in August, the Wyndham Championship and Viking Classic. He’s also trying to land sponsor exemptions into the Justin Timberlake event in Las Vegas, Frys.com Open and Turning Stone Resort Championship.
If he doesn’t make the FedEx Cup playoffs, Daly said he’ll likely return to Europe and finish out the season there.
