AUGUSTA, Ga. – Same Masters champion, different caddie on Angel Cabrera’s bag as he headed down the first fairway on Thursday to begin his title defense.
Cabrera’s youngest son is caddying for the two-time major winner instead of his normal bag man Ruben Yorio who caddied for him last year at Augusta National.
According to Charlie Epps, Cabrera’s swing coach, Cabrera wanted his son to caddie for him some this year and gave Yorio the pick of two majors. He picked the British Open and PGA Championship leaving the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach and the Masters to Cabrera’s son.
“(Yorio) tried to renegotiate after he thought about it, but Angel was really happy to have his son with him this week,” Epps said.
