Amateur Ko, 16, up to seventh in world rankings

Amateur Lydia Ko moved to No. 7 in Monday’s release of the newest Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

Ko won the CN Canadian Women’s Open Sunday at 16 years, 4 months and 1 day old. She won the event last year at 15 years, 4 months and 2 days old to become the youngest winner in LPGA history. She has now won four professional titles around the world.

With Sunday’s victory, Ko jumped 12 spots in the world rankings, leaping over four former world No. 1s in Yani Tseng (No. 15), Ai Miyazato (No. 14) Cristie Kerr (No. 13) and Jiyai Shin (No. 12).

Inbee Park remains No. 1. Stacy Lewis, Suzann Pettersen, Na Yeon Choi and So Yeon Ryu round out the top five.
