FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – Ricky Barnes still has plenty of the wildchild that made him a phenom in 2003, but the gallery wasn't taking any chances.
After splitting the fairway at the par-5 13th, the NYC crowd wanted to see fireworks.
'Hey, Ricky,' one local demanded, 'I don't want to see an iron come out of your bag. No laying up here.'
Barnes obliged, hitting fairway wood just short of the green and getting up and down for birdie.
As they would say at Bethpage, 'Good on yous.'
