TURNBERRY, Scotland – Tense moment in the 18th fairway amid Tiger Woods’ rally to the make the cut at Turnberry when Japanese phenom Ryo Ishikawa’s caddie drew the ire of the world No. 1’s looper.
Just as Woods settled in over his approach at the 18th, likely needing a birdie to play the weekend, Lee McAllan – a local caddie Ishikawa hired just for the Open Championship – picked up his bag and began moving. Steve Williams quickly waved him off.
After Woods putted out on the 18th the two bagmen shook hands and all seemed forgiven.
