MOBILE, Ala. – This week’s Bell Micro LPGA Classic is also a qualifier.
The field for next week’s Sybase Match Play Championship will be filled out here with 14 players earning their way to Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, N.J. The top 10 players on the leaderboard after 36 holes who are not otherwise qualified for Sybase will advance. After the final putt drops Sunday, the top four off the newest money list who are not otherwise qualified also will advance.
The top 48 players off last year’s final money list have locked up spots at Sybase. Fourteen from Bell Micro and two sponsor exemptions complete the 64-player field.
While the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings are not used to establish the field, they will be used to set the pairings. The field will be seeded Nos. 1-64 off the rankings. The top 32 seeds will be matched up based on a drawing.
The field will be divided into four brackets, each named after LPGA legends: Kathy Whitworth, Mickey Wright, Annika Sorenstam and Patty Berg.
