The best of the Bash Brothers

RSS

ORLANDO, Fla. – What was widely billed as a union of golf’s “Bash Brothers” has simply gone from bad to worse. The group of Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson and Gary Woodland is a combined 7 over par, led by Woods at 1 over and he’s yet to hit a fairway through 10 holes.

On pure power, however, Johnson is pacing the threesome followed closely by Woodland. Of the four times all three players hit driver off the same tee on the front nine, Johnson and Woodland were separated by more than 10 yards just once (at the fourth hole where Johnson’s drive went 399 and Woodland was 16 yards back).

But Woods has trailed his youthful three-ball partners by 57 yards (No. 4), 31 yards (No. 5), 3 yards (No. 6) and 20 yards (No. 9).

On Wednesday, Woods predicted he would be the “Corey Pavin” of the group. So far he’s not too far off.
