Big break for Big Easy

ORLANDO, Fla. – When the weather-warning horn blew at 2:34 p.m. (ET) to empty Bay Hill no one on property needed cover more than Ernie Els.

Five strokes up standing on the 13th tee, Els went double bogey-bogey – the Big Easy’s first back-to-back miscues all week – before an approaching storm overtook Arnold Palmer’s invitational and halted play. The South African is still two shots clear of Kevin Na at 11 under heading to the 15th tee but was in dire need of shelter of the literal and metaphorical variety.

According to officials there is about 50 minutes of play remaining and plenty of time to wait out the fast-moving storm, although the forecast doesn’t call for clear skies any time soon.
