Big jump for Tiger in the world rankings?

RSS

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – As Tiger Woods’ duel with Zach Johnson reaches the turn on Sunday at Sherwood Country Club, the secondary race for World Golf Ranking points heats up.

According to Golf Channel number crunchers, Woods could soar as high as 20th in the rankings with a victory at his Chevron World Challenge depending on the play of a handful of other players in the field.

Woods, who has slipped to 52nd in the world, could climb as high as 32nd with a solo second-place finish and 36th with a solo third. He hasn’t ranked inside the top 30 since he finished tied for 37th at this year’s WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in August.
