Barely into his second season on the European Tour, 22-year-old Thorbjorn Olesen has established himself as an up-and-coming player. With a chance to win in last year’s French Open and the lead in this year’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, the young Dane clearly has the goods to win.
Danish golfing statesman, Thomas Bjorn, sees Olesen as the successor to his perch as the best of his countrymen.
'I saw Sergio Garcia arrive on the scene, Rory arrive on the scene and this boy (Olesen) has it all, everything to be a world class player,” Bjorn said, according to Reuters.
“I honestly think we have not seen a talent like this in Danish golf ever.'
As for when that talent will translate into a breakthrough win for the world No. 151, Bjorn sees it as only a matter of time.
'When you're young, patience is one of the things you don't have ... it's going to come for Olesen because the talent is there,” offered Bjorn.
