Blixt, de Jonge share lead at Shriners after 36 holes

Jonas Blixt fired a 7-under 64 at TPC Summerlin for the second consecutive day to grab a share of the lead with Brendon De Jonge after 36 holes at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

Playing late in the day, de Jonge followed up an opening-round 62 with a 5-under 66 Friday, carding four birdies and an eagle against just one bogey.

Both players seek their first career PGA Tour win. Playing in his first full season on Tour, Blixt finished T-3 at the HP Byron Nelson Championship for his best result thus far in 2012. A native of Zimbabwe, de Jonge's best finish this season is a T-8 at the Travelers Championship.

Low-round honors were shared by Daniel Summerhays and John Daly, who both fired 8-under 63s. The round represents Daly's best score since the 2007 Open, and is just one shy of his career best. Currently without a Tour card, Daly is looking to regain full-time status on Tour for the first time since 2006. His round included eight birdies, two bogeys and an eagle, and he enters the third round at 10 under, four shots behind the co-leaders, seeking his first Tour win in eight years.

Opening-round leader Ryan Moore followed his Thursday 61 with a 3-under 68 on Friday and begins the weekend in third place, one shot behind Blixt and de Jonge. Summerhays and Tim Herron share fourth place after the second round, three shots back of the co-leaders.

U.S. Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III continued to play well in his return to life inside the ropes, carding a 4-under 67 Friday to complete the first 36 holes in 7 under. Love won this event in 1993 and recorded a top-10 finish here as recently as 2008.
