Bradley replaces McIlroy at Grand Slam of Golf

RSS

With reigning PGA champion Rory McIlroy opting to skip the event due to a prior commitment, the PGA of America announced that Keegan Bradley would round out the field of four at the PGA Grand Slam of Golf this October. Bradley will join current Masters champion Bubba Watson, U.S. Open winner Webb Simpson and British Open champion Ernie Els for the 36-hole competition from Port Royal Golf Course in Bermuda.

As defending champion, Bradley was first in line to replace McIlroy. The former PGA champion won last year's Grand Slam event by one stroke over 2011 Masters winner Charl Schwartzel.

McIlroy announced last week that he would not participate due to a schedule conflict. The Grand Slam will be contested Oct. 23-24; the Ulsterman had already committed to play in the BMW Shanghai Masters, which starts Oct. 25.
