By the numbers

HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. – Some numbers that stand out from the morning wave in the first round of the McDonald's LPGA Championship:
2 – The number of players who posted bogey-free rounds (Meaghan Francella, 69; Kristy McPherson, 70).
4 – The number of putts Karrie Webb took at the 10th hole, leading to a double bogey and knocking her off the leaderboard. Webb's ballstriking was solid. She hit 14 of 18 greens in regulation, but she took 33 putts. Actually, Webb counted 36 putts. Tour stats don't count putts from off the green. Webb still shot 72, making eight consecutive pars to end her round and keep herself in contention.
14 – Number of fairways Paula Creamer hit – all of them – but she couldn't take advantage, shooting 74.
22 – The number of putts rookie Anna Nordqvist needed in her round of 66.
65 – Nicole Castrale's score.
281 – The average yards per drive of rookie Vicky Hurst, tops in the morning wave.
