The five-time PGA Tour winner withdrew from The McGladrey Classic earlier this month because of inflammation in the wrist. It was previously reported that Byrd, 34, had consulted with multiple doctors and determined there was no structural damage or torn ligaments, despite feeling discomfort for more than a month. The most recent diagnosis of a torn tendon was made after visiting a specialist in New York.

Byrd’s manager at Crown Sports told’s Rex Hoggard that the 34-year-old should be ready to play by the Florida Swing in March.

Byrd is 49th on the PGA Tour money list, after earning $1,616,789 in 21 starts.
