Castle Stuart Golf Links to host Scottish Open

The Barclays Scottish Open will have a new home in 2011. Castle Stuart Golf Links, near Inverness, will host the Open Championship lead-in, July 7-10.

Loch Lomond had been the event's venue for the last 15 years, but many complained that it was closer to an American layout than anything that the players would see at the Open Championship.

The change in venue should help attract an even stronger field as players will get a chance to prep their game on a true links course.

Castle Stuart was opened in the summer of 2009 and has received critical acclaim. The Open Championship will take place the following week at Royal St. George's in Kent, England.
