Cheyenne Woods turned in a strong performance Friday to get in the hunt in the second round of the Volvik RACV Ladies Masters.

With a 6-under-par 67, Woods had a share of the lead through the morning wave at Royal Pines in Queensland, Australia. At 10-under 136, she was tied with South Africa’s Stacy Lee Bregman (67) with the afternoon wave still to go off. American Jessica Korda, the first-round co-leader at 5 under, had yet to tee off in the second round as Woods was finishing.

Woods, niece to Tiger Woods, is seeking her first Ladies European Tour title in her second season on the tour. The Australian Ladies Masters is an event co-sanctioned by the LET and Australian Ladies Professional Golf. American Katie Burnett, who shared the first-round lead with Korda, shot a 71 on Friday, leaving her three back through the morning wave. England’s Charley Hull shot 66 to get within three of the lead.

Karrie Webb, who is seeking her ninth victory in this event, was scheduled to play in the afternoon wave. She opened with a 74.
