Cho honors Blasberg memory with kisses

MOBILE, Ala. – Irene Cho believes she got some otherworldly help in her round of 3-under-par 69 in Thursday’s start to the Bell Micro LPGA Classic.

Cho, who was a best friend to Erica Blasberg on tour, said she thought of her friend often during the round. In fact, every time she made a birdie (four times), she kissed the pink wristband she was wearing. The wristband, created by Puma, was stitched with the letters “e.b.” in honor of Blasberg, who was found dead at her home in Henderson, Nev., on Sunday. Blasberg represented Puma.

Exhausted being able to sleep little this week, Cho said she might have gained more than inspiration from her friend.
