Na Yeon Choi at the 2012 U.S. Women's Open

Blackwolf Run got Na Yeon Choi with one quick, sharp bite in the final round of the U.S. Women's Open in Kohler, Wis. Choi withstood the wound, however, and recovered to win her first major championship.

The 24-year-old Korean shot a final round of 1-over 73 to win by four shots over Amy Yang at 7 under par.

Choi made a triple-bogey 8 at the 10th hole, briefly dipping to 5 under and creating an opening. She shut the door on the tournament with three ensuing birdies, making bogey at the last to claim the title.

Yang (71) was the only other player to break par for the week, finishing at 3 under.

Sandra Gal finished alone in third at 1 over par.

Three players finished tied for fourth at 2 over, including LPGA Championship winner Shanshan Feng, Giulia Sergas and Il Hee Lee.

2010 U.S. Women's Open champion Paula Creamer and Mika Miyazato tied for seventh at 3 over.

Lexi Thompson closed with 6-over 78 to finish T-14 at 5 over.
