Clark aims to shake title

Is Tim Clark the best player without a PGA Tour victory?

Or is it Ian Poulter?

Clark, 33, tees it up today at the Open at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., seeking his first victory in his 195th PGA Tour start. The South African has won four times internationally in his career – three times on the European Tour and once in Australia. He has finished second six times on the PGA Tour, including the ‘06 Masters. He was third at the PGA Championship in ‘03 and tied for third at the U.S. Open in ’05.

Poulter, 33, is 0 for 102 on the PGA Tour but isn’t in the field this week. He has seven European Tour titles. Poulter has three second-place finishes on the PGA Tour, including this year’s Players Championship.

Poulter (No. 21) and Clark (No. 39) are the highest ranked players in the Official World Golf Ranking without PGA Tour victories. Clark has played 15 or more PGA Tour events since 2002. Poulter has played 15 or more since '05.
