Club pro accused of shoe theft

Club pro Scott Medlin missed the cut at last week’s Heritage and then things really went sideways for the 43 year old. According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Medlin has been accused of stealing a pair of shoes from Martin Laird’s locker at Harbour Town.

The shoes, which were valued at $200, were recovered from Medlin’s golf bag and a court date has been set for May 28 on Hilton Head Island, S.C.

The entire incident, which Heritage tournament director Steve Wilmot called “embarrassing,” turns the spotlight back to Brian Davis who cost himself a shot at a tartan jacket when he called a two-stroke penalty on himself last Sunday on the first playoff hole.

We should expect more from golfers, pro and otherwise, but it’s still nice when they deliver.
