ORLANDO, Fla. – Spent Tuesday evening with Erik Compton, always an inspirational get, and the two-time heart-transplant recipient did not disappoint.
Among the range of topics Compton, who is playing this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational on a sponsor exemption and participated in a lecture series presented by Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children after his practice on Tuesday, talked about the young man from whom he received his second transplanted heart in 2008.
“It was the donor's 28th birthday on Monday,” said Compton, who met the family of the man last year during the Memorial tournament. “The heart is actually too big for me.”
After everything Compton has overcome in his life, that’s hard to believe.
