Fred Couples is poised to lead the American charge to a third consecutive Presidents Cup win under his watch.
Couples will be announced Tuesday as the captain of the American team for the 2013 matches at Muirfield Village, site of next week's Memorial Tournament, according to Golfweek.
Greg Norman will not return, however, for a third term as International captain. Three-time major winner Nick Price will reportedly be appointed the new captain.
Couples, the '92 Masters champion, has led the American side to wins last fall at Royal Melbourne in Australia and in 2009 at Harding Park in San Francisco. Couples has been universally praised for his laid-back, player-friendly leadership style.
Couples will be in the field next week at the Memorial, where he won in 1998. He was added when Matt Kuchar pulled out of the tournament at the entry deadline on Friday.
