Fred Couples will make his first appearance in next month's Senior British Open, the tournament announced Thursday.
Turnberry will host the fifth and final major of the Champions Tour season from July 26-29. Russ Cochran will defend the title he won last year at Walton Heath.
The 52-year-old Presidents Cup captain last competed in the British Open in 2006, missing the cut at Hoylake. The year prior, he finished T-3 at St. Andrews.
Couples is defending champion this week at another major, the Constellation Senior Players Championship, at Fox Chapel GC in Pittsburgh.
