PARKER, Colo. – Paula Creamer didn’t have it Sunday for the Americans.
Creamer, who came to these matches having won more Solheim Cup points than any other American (13 ½), was defeated, 5 and 4, by English 17-year-old Charley Hull, giving the Euros their first Sunday singles point.
Two years ago, Creamer was sent off first in Sunday singles in Ireland and was defeated, 6 and 5, by Catriona Matthew. Creamer was an American Solheim Cup bulldog going to Ireland with a 3-0 record in singles.
“She played great,” Creamer said. “I wish I could have given her a little bit of a battle. I just didn’t bring it today. The Solheim Cup brings the best and the worst out of you. I just couldn’t hit a fairway on the front nine. When you’re playing against somebody who is putting it close, and you’re struggling, it kind of gets to you.”
Creamer was 1-3 in this Solheim Cup. She's still 12-6-5 overall in the Solheim Cup.
