Through two rounds at the Kingsmill Championship, Paula Creamer looks poised to notch her first win of 2012.
Creamer carded rounds of 65-67 the first two days in Williamsburg, Va., and sits two behind leader Jiyai Shin through 36 holes, currently tied for third.
Her best finish this season was a T-8 at the ShopRite Classic in June.
“It's been a struggle this year,” Creamer said after her first-round 65 on Thursday.
“I don't want to put too much pressure on myself, but of course I come here to win. I play every tournament, even when I don't feel I'm at my best, I still feel like I can get a top 10 or whatnot. Hopefully I can continue the way that I'm playing and we'll see what happens.”
Creamer has previously finished tied for fourth in the 2006 and 2007 Kingsmill Championship. She tees off in the third round at 10:09 a.m. ET Saturday alongside Azahara Munoz and Lexi Thompson.
