OAKMONT, Pa. – Players might have been restless on the eve of this U.S. Women’s Open, but they’re sleeping like babies now.
“It’s exhausting,” Stacy Lewis said.
The combination of Oakmont’s difficulty, the heat and nearly six-hour rounds is taking a toll on players.
“I got home [Thursday] night, and I was in bed before the sun went down,” Lewis said.
Cristie Kerr said she was equally exhausted.
“So tired,” Kerr said. “For example, I could only have one glass of wine last night instead of two or three. Just kidding. It’s a joke. But, you are so mentally spent.”
