Daly hoping for Gruden to coach Razorbacks

With the sudden opening at the head coaching position of the University of Arkansas football program, former Razorback John Daly has a nominee to replace the recently ousted and shamed Bobby Petrino.

Daly tweeted Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long in support of hiring former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach and current ESPN analyst Jon Gruden.

Daly said, '[S]till strong behind Gruden as I still think he would be the man to take us to that level! #WooPigSooie'

The winning coach of Super Bowl XXXVII caddied for Daly in Tampa in 2008 for the final seven holes of the first round after a weather delay. Daly recruited Gruden while both were in a hospitality tent for then sponsor Hooters Restaurants.

After missing the cut that week, Daly caught flak for partying in the same hospitality tent at Innisbrook. As a result of his behavior that week, then teacher Butch Harmon dropped Daly as a student.
