Darkness pushes Symetra finale to Monday finish

The Symetra Tour Championship’s conclusion was pushed to Monday with darkness halting the rain-suspended event at LPGA International’s Jones Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The awarding of LPGA playing privileges for next season to the top 10 finishers in the Volvik Race for the Card will come with Monday’s finish.

American Megan McChrystal and South African Paula Reto were tied for the Symetra Tour Championship lead when play was halted Sunday because of darkness. McChrystal had one hole to finish and Reto had two to finish when darkness ended play. Cards will be awarded to the top 10 in the season's final money list. They’re both at 12 under par. While neither is far up enough the money list to be able to win tour cards, they both should earn passes to the final stage of LPGA Q-School with their finishes.

P.K. Kongkraphan and Christine Song locked up their tour cards as the No. 1 and 2 money leaders, respectively, going into the finale, but the next eight cards were still in play going into Sunday.
