DUBLIN, Ohio – Jason Day, five shots behind phenom front-runner Rickie Fowler at the rain-delayed Memorial, took a big step forward last month when he won his maiden PGA Tour title at the Byron Nelson Championship. At Muirfield Village his caddie Col Swatton said it’s what his man needed to take the next step in his career.
He also gave some insight into the type of person Day is. On his golf ball the Australian had Taylor Made imprint the image of a red kangaroo. Why a red kangaroo?
“Because they are the biggest and the meanest,” Swatton smiled.
