Diaz going first class to Disney

ORLANDO, Fla. – Laura Diaz needed a good week to advance up the money list and the LPGA’s priority rankings, but she joked that she needed a big paycheck for other reasons.

Diaz, who scooped up her 4-year-old son after leaving the 18th green Sunday at the LPGA Tour Championship, was planning a family side trip on Monday.

“We’re going to Disney World tomorrow,” Diaz said. “So I needed enough money to pay for that.”

Diaz, a two-time LPGA winner, gave birth to her second child in January and has struggled to find her best form. At 93rd on the money list, she needed a good finish Sunday to crack the top 80 on the money list and give her that tour's equivalent of exempt standing next season. Diaz tied for fifth to earn $56,608 and jumped to 69th on the money list.
