One thing we’ve learned about Royal Melbourne from watching the Presidents Cup: Just because someone hits his ball onto a green doesn’t mean it’s going to stay there. With the wind blowing hard, we haven’t seen so many balls scurry off putting surfaces since the last Masters (and these greens, as currently set up, with Stimpmeter readings of 14, seem more severe than Augusta National’s. Of course, the courses were designed by the same person: Alister MacKenzie.).
Discussion: Do you enjoy watching the Presidents Cup players struggle in the wind at Royal Melbourne, or was the setup too difficult for the conditions?
