Dufner looking for win, birthday present at Bay Hill

ORLANDO, Fla. – Jason Dufner’s name is hitting a lot of leaderboards lately.

He led the both the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the WGC-Cadillac Championship after the first rounds. He led the Transitions Championship going into the weekend.

With his 6-under-par 66 Thursday, Dufner grabbed a share of another lead, at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Dufner is looking to elevate his weekend game in a bid to win his first PGA Tour title. He turns 35 on Saturday.

“That would be a great birthday present,” Dufner said.

Though Dufner lost the PGA Championship after a late stumble last year, he said the experience has elevated his confidence. So much so that he will take a new outlook into the Masters in the year’s first major in two weeks.

“This is probably the first time in my career I can actually think about winning those types of tournaments,” Dufner said.
