Though several PGA Tour players are active on the social media site, Dufner and Watson were the only Tour members to make the list, which has been published annually by the publication since 2011. High-profile athletes from other sports among the top 100 this year included LeBron James and Kobe Bryant of the NBA, the NFL's Colin Kaepernick and Johnny Manziel, quarterback for Texas A&M.
The winner of the PGA Championship last month at Oak Hill, Dufner joined Twitter in May 2011 and to date has amassed nearly 300,000 followers. Though stoic on the course, the former Auburn standout is known for his interaction on the site, notably with friend Keegan Bradley.
Watson, who won the Masters in a playoff in 2012, joined Twitter in September 2009 and is among the more popular golf-related follows, having recently cracked the one million-follower plateau. Watson was also featured among the top 100 last year following his triumph at Augusta National.
The only other golfer to make the list this year was Christina Kim, who cracked the top 100 for the third consecutive year after experiencing somewhat of a resurgence this season on the LPGA Tour. Kim joined Twitter in 2009 and to date has accrued nearly 41,000 followers.
