ST. ANDREWS, Scotland – On Tuesday Geoff Ogilvy cut his practice round on the Old Course short. Ditto for Sandy Lyle and Peter Senior. Not even a walk along the storied fairways can make rounds that last upwards of five hours worth the effort.
But on Wednesday Soren Hansen figured out how to avoid the wait. Hansen teed off at 6:45 a.m. into a steady rain and cold winds off the Firth of Forth and was off the course by 9 a.m. That’s 2 hours, 15 minutes. Even a Scot would be impressed with that.
