Austin Ernst, Erynne Lee and Lisa McCloskey have been selected by the USGA to represent the United States at next month’s Women’s World Amateur Team Championship. The biennial event will be held Sept. 27-30 at Gloria Golf Club in Antalya, Turkey.

“These young women are tremendously talented and are to be congratulated on this honor,” said Carol Semple Thompson, who will captain the U.S. women’s team.

Ernst, 20, won the 2011 NCAA Championship as a freshman at LSU and also represented the U.S. at the the 2012 Curtis Cup.

Lee, 19, a sophomore at UCLA, earned Freshman of the Year honors last year and has competed in two U.S. Women’s Opens.

McCloskey, 21, recently completed her college career at USC, and has plenty of experience in USGA events, having competed in the Curtis Cup and U.S. Women’s Open. A dual citizen, she played for Colombia at the 2010 World Amateur Team Championship, finishing eighth individually.

The winner of the World Amateur Team Championship is determined after four days of stroke play. Each day, the total of the two lowest scores constitute the team score for the day.
